To celebrate our dear friend Geoff Bullock — renowned musician, songwriter, lyricist, and published author — on his 60th birthday, we knew we couldn’t just give a gift. It had to be a tribute. A love letter in glass and grout.

With a much-loved Fender guitar donated from my collection, Kelly Meek from Philkel Mosaics Studio and her long-time mosaic partner-in-crime Jenny,got to work. What emerged was not just an art piece — it was a symphony in shards. A mosaic masterpiece bursting with colour, heart, and story.

This guitar now sings a different tune — one made of broken tiles and whole memories. There’s a nod to Geoff’s lifelong love of music in the piano keys and vibrant harmonies of colour. A tiny sailboat floats across a sea of mosaic, echoing his deep affection for sailing the waters around our shared paradise on Scotland Island, NSW. And, yes — hidden among the texture is a cheeky cork or two, toasting his flair for a little champagne sparkle.

More than just a gift, this piece is a visual memoir of a life beautifully lived. Of lyrics written and journeys taken. Of sea breezes, sunset sessions, and the unmistakable rhythm of friendship and creativity.

To Geoff — your music moves people, your words matter, and your friendship is a gift we all treasure. May this guitar always remind you of the songs you’ve written, the waters you’ve sailed, and the beautiful mosaic of memories we’ve made together.
