THE BEGINNING
The interest for all things mosaic started when a friend invited Kelly to a mosaic workshop over a weekend, on the South Coast of NSW. From there she attended weekly classes at 'Garden shed mosaic' studios in Sydney's Northern Beaches under the guidance and watchful eye of Cathy. The love affair with this medium developed as Kelly discovered different styles and applications. Branching out to different studios and artists', Kelly absorbed a broader understanding of this style of artwork.
RAVENNA ITALY
So far, the highlight for Kelly was to attend a master class for a week, in Ravenna Italy, at the 'Koko Mosaico Art School’ under the renowned mosaic artist Martin Cheek. Not only were the classes superb, but the historical tours of the ancient cathedrals, with their amazing mosaic masterpieces were astonishing.
